Since 2015, Miba has been supporting the Laafit association in the integration of refugees and asylum seekers who are accommodated in Laakirchen. In addition to financing German courses, the association also regularly organized the "Café of encounter", where refugees and Miba employees could meet and exchange ideas. In this way a contribution was made to the better integration of refugees into the community. 

Miba employees at the Laakirchen site also collected donations for asylum-seeking refugees from Syria. This money was used to provide second-hand bicycles for the asylum seekers during their stay, so that they could independently go to the authorities or make purchases. In addition to the bicycles, locks, helmets and child seats could be purchased.
