Miba takes over manufacturer of power electronics components

With effect from September 1, the technology group based in Laakirchen took over full ownership of EDMS, the Slovenian manufacturer of power electronics components. Until now, the Miba Group held a 49% share in the company. Employing a staff of around 40, EDMS specializes in the production of heat pipes and air coolers for power electronics as well as in the production of resistors. “By taking over EDMS, we as Miba drive forward our competencies in efficient and environmentally-friendly energy production and transmission. In addition, we strengthen our capabilities in developing and producing power electronics components,” outlines Peter Mitterbauer, CEO of Miba. “We have already been working closely with EDMS, and now we aim to intensify our cooperation and continue to grow together.”

EDMS is headquartered in Sentjernej in the electrical industry cluster located near the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana – “a real advantage for us, as we find well-educated employees with strong skills and experience,” states Michael Niedersüss, Managing Director of Miba Power Electronics Group.

By taking over EDMS, the Miba family grows by another 40 employees to a total of about 6.400 people.
