Miba AG, one of the leading strategic partners of the international engine and automotive industry, joined forces with the NIO Formula E Team for the 2018 Zurich E-Prix all-electric racing event.
Miba's partnership with the NIO Formula E Team forms part of a global marketing strategy to achieve its vision of becoming a global leader in its specialist area within the EV industry, linked to its core mission "Innovation in Motion – Technologies for a Cleaner Planet."
Based on Miba's corporate vision "No powertrain without Miba technology", Miba develops and produces life critical components for every drivetrain technology. A key focus of the company today is the development of solutions for electric and hybrid vehicles. The company currently supplies resistors to NIO for vehicle production at its manufacturing plants in China.
The ABB FIA Formula E Championship is the world’s first fully-electric international single-seater racing series that will once again be making history by bringing circuit racing back to Switzerland for the first time in over 60 years.
The inaugural Zurich E-Prix will took place on 10th June 2018 where the NIO Formula E Team featured Miba branding on its NIO 003 race cars driven by Oliver Turvey (#16) and Luca Filippi (#68). In addition, NIO provided the opportunity for a Miba student placement within its Advanced Engineering department at the 'Centre for Innovation & Enterprise' at the Begbroke Science Park near Oxford, UK.
